After 19 years The English Music Festival is embarking on a new chapter as it prepares to welcome audiences to the spectacular setting of Dartington Hall in Devon.

Over four days, from 22nd to 25th May, world-class musicians will present masterpieces of English music in the beautiful Great Hall in a programme that includes:

• music for horn and piano with Ben Goldscheider and Simon Callaghan

• the London Mozart Players performing concertos by Gerald Finzi and Thomas Linley

• music for piano trio played by Hiroaki Takenouchi, Raphael Wallfisch and Rupert Marshall-Luck

• world premières of John Foulds’ Caprice Pompadour and Edgar Bainton’s To the Name of Above Every Name.

Through its 20 years the festival has staged world premieres by composers such as Elgar, Delius, Holst and Vaughan Williams, as well as commissioning new works.

Em Marshall-Luck, Founder-Director of The English Music Festival, said: “We are absolutely thrilled to be presenting a wonderful programme of English music, performed by world-class artists, at our dream venue of Dartington Hall.

“We are looking forward to welcoming concert-goers and music lovers to what promises to be four days filled with delightful and inspirational music-making.”
