On January 11th 1787, astronomer Sir William Herschel discovered the first two moons of Uranus, Titania and Oberon. But alongside William Herschel’s incredible work as an internationally celebrated astronomer, he was also a composer.
Herschel lived, died and is buried in Slough where The Dionysus Ensemble are based, so they feel this local link keenly.
To celebrate this January astronomical discovery date, their latest Herschel music rediscovery is released on all major download and streaming sites.

The amazing thing is that no one in living memory has heard this music until now, as his Violin Concerto in A minor hasn’t been played for over 200 years!
The Dionysus Ensemble are really excited to share the music with us and hope that you enjoy it. Do let us know what you think by sending us an email via BiteBack.
