British chamber music will feature in a trio of concerts taking place in June including one at Leighton House in London by violinist Madeleine Mitchell, pianist Julian Milford and cellist Kirsten Jenson (pictured above).
- On 1 June as part of the Music In Country Churches the London Chamber Ensemble Quartet will be performing Charles Wood ‘Highgate‘ Quartet (1893) at St Mary’s Church in Ross-on-Wye, Herefordshire. The LCEQ will record this and other Charles Wood quartets for SOMM in the summer, due for release next year to coincide with the centenary of the composer’s death.
- On 11th June as part of the Pinner Music Festival the London Chamber Ensemble Quartet will perform Howells ‘In Gloucestershire’ (earlier version 1920) from their album last year, one of Gramophone’s recommended recordings 2024
- On 24th June in Leighton House, London, violinist Madeleine Mitchell, pianist Julian Milford and cellist Kirsten Jenson will perform four delightful salon pieces by Sir George Dyson for violin and piano and cello and piano from the 1920s, surrounded by British Pre-Raphaelite paintings by Lord Leighton and others.
