New trustees are being sought by the Sir Arnold Bax Society which is a charity dedicated to promoting the music and legacy of the composer (pictured above) through the support of performance, education, and the critical revision and preservation of his written works.
As a newly established charity, the society is entering an important phase in our development which involves cultivating national and international partnerships with musicians and conductors, shaping the direction of our score restoration and library initiative, and enhancing the public perception of Sir Arnold Bax as a distinguished composer and remarkable individual.
The society seeks applications from experienced trustees from any professional background, with particular interest in those who have strong administrative expertise. This may include minute-taking, agenda planning, website maintenance, editing, proof-reading and the organisation and management of charitable processes such as annual general meetings.
Trustees appointed will be responsible for ensuring that all decisions are made in accordance with the charity’s governing document adopted in July 2024.
The society welcomes initial conversations with prospective applicants; expressions of interest should be emailed to Richard Adams, chair of trustees, at baxsocietychairman@gmail.com.
