The British Music Society AGM took place online and in person on 22nd February 2025 at 5.30pm followed by a great performance Ruth Gipps’s Symphony No. 2 given by Ealing Symphony Orchestra.

About 17 members attended the AGM either in person or online. For John Talbot, former Chairman of BMS, it was his first, and successful, experience of Zoom!

The Vice-Chair, still faced with a ‘non-quorate’ committee of only three, made two proposals to the AGM concerning the future of the BMS and the meeting agreed to hold an EGM on Saturday 10th May at 5.30pm both online and at the same venue – St Barnabas Church, Pitshanger Lane, Ealing.

This meeting takes place shortly before another Ealing Symphony Orchestra concert – this time featuring A Colour Symphony by Sir Arthur Bliss and Valse de la Reine by Samuel Coleridge-Taylor. Tickets will be available to BMS members at  half-price!

A full report of the AGM, full details of the two proposals for the upcoming EGM and the special offer code for the ESO concert will be circulated soon.
