The Lion and the Unicorn: the Festival of Britain 75 years on

A choral concert inspired by a lost Festival of Britain pavilion, juxtaposing fine works from Festival programmes (Purcell, Parry, Vaughan Williams, Howells, Renaissance composers) with overlooked visionary pieces (Gustav Holst, Imogen Holst, Britten, Tippett), while bringing to life other aspects of the Lion and Unicorn themes (Ethel Smyth, Jim Clements).
