London Song Festival: Friends and Lovers – Armstrong Gibbs & de la Mare

Cecil Armstrong Gibbs and Walter de la Mare enjoyed a lifelong friendship that resulted in 38 songs, the best-known being Silver. This programme presents an overview of these beautiful songs by the winners of the 2021 London Song Festival British Art Song Competition; mezzo-soprano Anika-France Forget and pianist Cole Knutson. The programme also includes music by Herbert Howells and Benjamin Britten.
