Lead by flautist, Jenny Dyson, this concert features some of Arnold’s most exquisite chamber works.\nSaturday 17 October\n2pm\nA talk on the relationship of Malcolm Arnold and his composition teacher, Gordon Jacob.\nSaturday 17 October\n2pm\nThe Alina Orchestra conducted by Hillary Davan Wetton presents Arnold’s smaller-scale orchestral works including his Horn Concerto and Variations on a Ukrainian Folk Song.\nSaturday 17 October\n7.30pm\nThe Northampton Symphony Orchestra conducted by John Gibbons presents Arnold’s dynamic orchestral works from his Viola Concerto to Sound Barrier. As well as works Ruth Gipps.\nSunday 18 October\n11am\nA talk presented by clarinetist, Janet Hilton who worked with Malcolm during her recording of the first clarinet concerto and also his late Wind Octet.\nSunday 18 October\n12pm\nOrchestral concert.\nSunday 18 October\n2.15pm\nJohn Griff will explore Malcolm’s work with legendary film maker, David Lean.\nSunday 18 October\n4pm\nArnold’s writing for the flute given by the award-winning flautist, Emma Halnan.\nMORE…\n
