LSO Live has been awarded Label of the Year at the 2026 International Classical Music Awards (ICMA), recognising the label’s artistic excellence, innovation and commitment to bringing the London Symphony Orchestra’s music to audiences around the world.
“We’re honoured that LSO Live has been named Label of the Year at the ICMA Awards. This recognition reflects the remarkable artistry of the Orchestra and the dedication of our brilliant recording team,” said Becky Lees, Director of LSO Live.
She added: “LSO Live exists thanks to the members’ continued belief in the value of recordings, and this award highlights how central the label is to the LSO’s mission— sharing our voice globally, inspiring listeners, and preserving performances for the future. Thank you to our artists, colleagues, and supporters; this is a true team achievement.” –
The ICMA jury praised LSO Live for its consistently high-quality recordings, broad selection of major repertoire, and its distinctive artist-led approach to recording.
Founded in 1999 as one of the first orchestra-owned record labels, LSO Live has become an internationally respected imprint, releasing recordings that capture the orchestra at the heart of its artistic life in the Barbican and beyond.
Following the announcement in January, members of the LSO Live team travelled to Bamberg to attend the ICMA Awards ceremony on the evening of Wednesday 18 March.
The occasion was marked by a special performance from Roman Simovic, Leader of the London Symphony Orchestra, who represented LSO Live on stage during the celebrations and performed the Finale from Tchaikovsky’s Violin Concerto.
The International Classical Music Awards are among the most prestigious accolades in the classical music industry, celebrating excellence in recorded music and recognising outstanding artistic achievement across labels, artists and institutions.
