Australia’s Robert James Stove is one of a number of new members who joined the British Music Society recently.

Robert is currently in the final stages of his PhD candidature at the Sydney Conservatorium; his thesis is on the subject of Stanford’s organ music.

In 2019 he issued a CD – Pax Britannica: Organ Music by Victorian and Edwardian Composers (Ars Organi AOR002) – which includes works by Elgar, Parry, Stainer, Ethel Smyth, and Sterndale Bennett as well as Stanford. Currently, and despite the coronavirus-induced lockdown, he is the regular organist for livestreamed liturgies at St Fidelis’s Catholic Church in the Melbourne suburb of Moreland.
